House Of Prime Rib
your comments review this restaurant
I have been coming to the establishment for almost 20 years and my pilgrimage to this mecca of fine dining will continue for more. What else can you say about the place....the ambiance has a character of sophistication and modern metropolitan progressiveness.....food is exceptionally acceptible even to this tough and picky eater. The prime rib has the right balance amount of flavor and subtleness. It's not a pribe rib where it's either has an overbearing amount of spices and salt, but it's not also bland like my ex-girlfriend's cooking. now don't get me started on the side dishes...the creamed spinach is rich and hot, yet I could still taste the crispness in it. The loaded baked potatoe, it's a meal by itself. with the size along with bacon, butter, and cream, I suggest to anyone that he/she not eat the whole spud, but to taste and compliment the beef. Now do not think that this review is biased towards crowning this place as the king of all prime rib places. SFHOPR has its flaws and needed improvement. First, on busy nights (Fri,Sat and Sun's) I suggest the diners reserve a week in advance. Even if diners get there on their appointed time, there is no guarantee that they willl be seated in time. I suggest that they get liquored up, I mean set themselves up in the bar for abuout 40 minutes to an hour before being seated. Now this kind of imperfection is acceptible not just because I am a 20 year dining SFHOPR veteran, but because I like to drink and get hammered before dinner. In addition, I like to mingle and talk with friends and associates before partaking in the breking of bread. The service will be slow on busy nights and weekends. hey, gives me a chance to drink more of their apple martinis. If diners want a fast ansd speedy meal without enjoying and reflecting the place, then they should go on a midweek day like a tuesday or wednesday. Every place has it's perfection and flaws, if picky and demanding diners decide to put aside the shortcomings, I guarantee that a night at "The House" will be memorable.
