Chez Panisse
our comments
“Exciting” seems to be the best word to describe this restaurant with a nightly rotating menu and a name from a 1930’s movie character. Chef and co-owner Alice Waters had a unique vision when she came up with this eatery with her partners more then 30 years ago. They wanted to have a restaurant that was like dinner parties at one of their homes. The restaurant dinning area is located in the basement of the building and dinners are served at two set times. Upstairs is the restaurant café where the food and prices are more casual. A surprise every time you come here makes this a good place to go for those who get bored with redundancy.- November 2004
